It’s alive!

The website crashed late last year (2015). I was too busy with graduate school to notice we’d hit our space limit until it was too late. I finally made time (meaning I am neglecting something important) to address it. It will look a bit rough for a little while as I get it back in order.

Accepted!

They said, ‘YES!’ Actually, several graduate schools sent us offers but we accepted the one from Virginia Commonwealth University. They offered full tuition remission (I do not pay any tuition) and I will receive a yearly stipend. In return I will work on various research projects in the lab and will assist the department by advising students, and/or teaching labs. What this ultimately means is we will not rack up a soul-crushing mountain of debt as I earn a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology.

Sweet Tea

Spending the weekend studying a strange mix of behaviorism, personality, formal logic and Plato’s Symposium. Made a big pitcher of peach tea and this song got stuck in my head.

The little things make all the difference. I probably need to get the kayak on the lake very soon.

 

WorldWide Telescope

If you are interested in astronomy, I’ve been playing around with a free program called WorldWide Telescope. Instead of trying to describe it myself I’ll just quote from the program website:

The WorldWide Telescope (WWT) is a Web 2.0 visualization software environment that enables your computer to function as a virtual telescope—bringing together imagery from the world’s best ground- and space-based telescopes for the exploration of the universe. WWT blends terabytes of images, information, and stories from multiple sources into a seamless, immersive, rich media experience delivered over the Internet. Students of all ages will feel empowered to explore and understand the cosmos using WWT’s simple and powerful user interface.
